Sensory Garden in St. Gabriel’s School
We are delighted to inform you all that we are currently in the process of developing a Sensory Garden in the St. Gabriel's school location after funding was secured from KBC Bank's 'Brighter Communities', The National Lottery, and other private donors.
This sensory playground will be built with the St. Gabriel's children and their complex, special needs in mind and will enable staff to bring the learning experience outdoors, to encourage and support the health and educational development of the children. The garden will be located at the front of the school and various classrooms will open directly out onto the playground so as to extend the learning environment and encourage sensory learning and play.
Outdoor play and gardening activities are evidence based interventions, that are core elements to education and health development and we are excited for the opportunities that will be available to the children and their learning experience here at St. Gabriel's once the playground is built.
