St.Gabriel’s School & Centre

St. Gabriel’s is a Limerick-based voluntary organisation and registered charity. Located in Dooradoyle, it provides a range of disability services to children and young adults.

St.Gabriel’s Mission Statement

St. Gabriel’s School & Centre is dedicated to providing education and a range of therapy services to children and young adults with physical, intellectual and sensory disabilities and developmental delay. We aim to deliver these services through an interdisciplinary team approach. Our work offers support to ensure that these children and young adults live their lives in an inclusive manner that enables them to reach their potential. The organisation also offers holistic support to the children’s families.

St.Gabriel’s School

St.Gabriel’s School is located in Dooradoyle adjacent to St.Gabriel’s Centre and is one of only five similar schools in the country. It is a primary and post primary day school for children from 4-18 years old with multiple, physical/sensory disabilities and/or developmental delay. St.Gabriel’s Centre provides health related supports to the children who attend the school through the Treehouse Early Intervention Team.

St.Gabriel’s Centre

St.Gabriel’s School & Centre is a dynamic partnership between Limerick Children’s Services, Brothers of Charity, Enable Ireland, St.Jopeph’s Foundation Charleville and the Health Service Executive West. The partnership is responsible for the provision of team based health services in the region to children with disabilities aged 0-18 years.

St.Gabriel’s Hydrotherapy Pool

St.Gabriel’s hydrotherapy pool opened in January 2009. Since then it has been of enormous benefit to children who attend St.Gabriel’s School & Centre. It is also available to external groups and individuals who have various disabilities and medical conditions. Amongst the conditions that hydrotherapy can benefit are; arthritis, low back pain, sports injuries, rehabilitation following stroke and orthopaedic surgery and in the treatment of pain management.
